OMT Pearls for Upper Extremity Injuries in World-Class Athletes

Objectives:

1) Define common injuries to the upper extremity sustained by athletes, including the etiology of injury, standard treatment and relevant anatomy, physiology and physical exam findings.  

2) Demonstrate osteopathic manipulative medicine techniques that can be utilized to treat these different injuries to the upper extremity.

Short Description:

This session will include both lecture and hands on demonstration and practice.  Injuries sustained by athletes will be discusses; including the etiology of injury, standard of care treatment and relevant anatomy, physiology and physical exam findings.  The hands-on portion of this session will be an opportunity for you to practice different osteopathic manipulative techniques to treat these different conditions.
